Regrets to anyone who was disappointed when the Peace sign did not light on Sunday, June 4.
Regretably, we had not anticipated: the exact angle the Peace sign would be set at; that the lighted sign could attract parents with small children; and that the very best place to watch the sign at night was the single most dangerous place on the cliffs, both on the cliff side (with failed concrete and sheer drops), AND on the road side (with people driving too fast around the curve).
At first we thought we could solve the safety issue with "security," but any show of AUTHORITY at the site seemed like the wrong vibe.
SO, the new hope is to light the sign rarely, randomly, and never for more than about 10 minutes, so as not to attract any crowds or create a spectacle for neighbors. We hope you might catch it sometime.
Mostly, though, we people continue to enjoy the art, and contiue to use this website as a place to share postive thoughts on peace.

I am comment 6:53 p.m. I was there the lights were not turned on; and, as one who walks there daily, think it can be a dangerous spot. But I wonder if you might at some brief and random lighting take a picture and print it here for us to see. Thanks. JW
